A new survey conducted by the USDA shows that 42 percent of districts surveyed are participating in farm to school activities, which means that 42,587 schools in 5,254 districts are bringing the farm to their school.
This translates to 23.6 million students learning about where their food comes from, and they are learning healthier eating habits. And, according to the USDA, 16 percent of school districts surveyed that do not currently participate in farm to school activities, plan to do so in the future.
