Safe Routes to School can get kids off their butts and on their bikes

As the stats bear out, kids today have become less active, less independent and less healthy. In 1969, nearly 50 percent of all children in the United States (and nearly 90 percent of those within a mile of school) walked or bicycled to school. Today, that number has plummeted to fewer than 15 percent.

Safer Streets Progress in Oklahoma City!

On September 12, Oklahoma City voters cast their ballots in the “Better Streets, Safer City” special election. The Oklahoma City Council had initially voted to call the special election for voters to consider investing more than $1.2 billion in critical infrastructure like streets and sidewalks.

Updated Childhood Overweight and Obesity data for 10-17-year-olds released

As our kids go back to school, we want to ensure that they have the healthiest school day possible.
