We have an exciting update on the Massachusetts Food Trust Program! Governor Baker released his FY19 Capital Investment Plan with $1 million included for the program. This means the program will launch with a total of $2 million in capital dollars!

It’s no secret that most restaurant kids’ meals aren't exactly healthy. Too often they are high in calories, saturated fat, sugar and sodium--and low in nutrition. Eating out used to be a special treat – now it’s become a strategy for how we can get one more thing marked off our to-do list. Restaurants should do their part by including menu items that are healthy, especially for kids. That is why advocates like you have been calling for restaurants to make all meals - but especially kids' meals - healthier. And we are starting to see some change.

#GirlsAre Strong: The Case for Inclusive Programming

Ten-year-old Sadie from Birmingham, Alabama is just like any other average fourth grader. She likes wearing pink and sparkly "girl power" shirts and hanging with her friends. Sadie also happens to have cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Unfortunately, for many girls like Sadie, the options to participate in inclusive after-school physical activity programs are limited.
